The Dragon Age games are some of the biggest Fantasy RPGs out there, and developed by one of the most renowned RPG developers, BioWare. As work continues on the next game in the series, the developers have reaffirmed their focus on a single-player experience, with more details coming in 2022.
Although we still don’t know a whole lot about Dragon Age 4, a recent blog post from the developers revealed they are focusing on developing a single-player experience. Maybe not the biggest reveal, but it does back up a recent report that suggest DA4 dropped all of its multiplayer elements following the success of other single-player games like Star Wars: Jedi - Fallen Order.
“Speaking of building new worlds and stories for you to explore,” the developers said, “we want to let you all know that we're still hard at work on building the next single-player focused experience for Dragon Age. We're excited for next year when we can talk more about what we're working on.”
EA previously stated they were “doubling down on live services” back in 2019, and considering the previous title, Dragon Age: Inquisition, had a form of multiplayer, it’s quite refreshing to hear that EA hasn’t forced the developers to create something this time round. Hopefully we’ll learn more sooner rather than later, as the game is currently expected to release sometime in 2023.
