These days we expect a certain amount of content from a big AAA title charging AAA prices. Essentially, we all want our money’s worth. That certainly looks the case in the highly anticipated and upcoming sequel to Dying Light, as the developers recently revealed just how long it would take to complete the game.

According to Techland, Dying Light 2 will take “at least” 500 hours in order to complete the game fully (something they note as “almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!”). Of course, Techland also specified that this is for 100% completion, and those who just focus on the main story and some side quests will be able to complete it sooner: “if you're not in a rush, should take you around 70-80hrs,” the Twitter account said.

They also revealed the official skill tree of Dying Light 2, so check it out below to see what kind of skills and abilities you can expect to unlock:

Of course, DL2 includes many instances where a player’s choice can have consequences on the environment, so it’s unclear if that 500 hours mark is a little inflated by having to do repeat playthroughs. Either way, it’s clear that Dying Light 2 will be a big game with lots of content available to players.

What do you think? Are you excited for Dying Light 2? How do you feel about the 70-80 hour playtime? What do you think makes up for the 500 hour playtime for 100% completion? And how many hours are you expecting to play Dying Light 2 for? Let us know!

How long are you hoping to play Dying Light 2 for?

Is 500 hours too long to fully complete a game?

What do you think mostly makes up those 500 hours?

500h? Hmm, that's probably sounds right if we have to account multiple playthroughs due to different future with every different approach on the missions and I see myself playing it for quite long time, so more time to play, better for me, especially I know that 2-3 friends are willing to play it for long time.

the longest singleplayer games that i played and was doing the 100% were AC Origins and AC Odyssey both of thos took me around 70h to finish with trainer even then it already started getting boring, similar thing happened to me when i played Witcher 3 i liked the game a lot and i did all of the side stuff but after some times it just started being boring for to me for some reason so i droped it

Do I smell quantity over quality?

It has been like that for years. Just look at Ubisoft open world games.

I know, I'm so tired of these endless games, I just don't have the time anymore to spend on liberating 60 outposts and grabbing 500 "collectibles"...

While this is attention grabbing headline, 500h of gameplay doesn't necessarily mean good. I personally even in best RPG's am content with 100-200h of gameplay, after that no matter the content quality it becomes slightly tiring and i can see myself just abandoning it. Im pretty sure this 500 figure is accounted with all its game content like collectibles and whatnot but its just mehh for me. ~50h is plenty 100-200h is more than enough depending on genre, 500? nahhh
