2022 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for gaming, and although there’s not a huge amount of games coming out in the first month, there are a few which are definitely worth looking out for. So with that said, here are the biggest games coming out in January 2022.

PC gamers will only have 3 major titles to look forward to this month: Monster Hunter Rise, God of War 2018, and Rainbow Six Extraction. Although the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection also launches in January 2022, that is unfortunately only for PlayStation 5 as the PC release date has not been revealed yet.

--------------

Monster Hunter Rise - January 12th / PC

--------------

God of War 2018 - January 14th / PC

--------------

Rainbow Six Extraction - January 20th / PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Stadia

--------------

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - January 28th / Nintendo Switch

--------------

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection - January 28th / PlayStation 5

--------------

If you’re planning on picking up any of these games then you can vote for them in the poll below. Unfortunately we still can’t do multiple votes just yet, so just pick which one you’re most excited for and then let us know of any others in the discussion area below! And of course, let us know if we missed any other big games coming out this month!

Which game are you most excited to get this month?

Why is everyone so excited for GoW? I played it on my friends PS4 and was expecting some fun over the top gameplay like GoW 1-3 but no I got this.

GoW 1-2 and PSP titles are playable on PC, GoW3 and Ascension will soon be playable as well as RPCS3 improves. That'll leave the latest title unplayable to PC players (not everyone can "play on a friend's PS4"), so that's something to be excited for.

For me personally the above is one of the reasons. The others include "I don't have a PS5 (nor any interest to own it)", "don't care about pokemon", "MH rise didn't stick (despite being a fan of the series)" and "screw ubi" xD

Been a big MH fan since day one, Rise sadly really sucks in my opinion.

It feels like a hack and slay at this point, you don't have to think about what you're doing and you don't have to avoid attacks. Monster don't hit hard enough to even care, and they usually die within 10 minutes.

Bought World twice, won't buy Rise twice. Hope they bring back some of the gameplay that initially made MH great with the next main title, if they keep dumbing it down the next game will be the first MH title I don't even buy.

Same here. Been playing MH Since Freedom2 was fresh news on the PSP. Despite a lot of people apparently liking Rise - I just can't get into it. My missis is the same. Freedom Unite, Gen U and World remain firm favorites.

Monster Hunter Rise as I have played everything GoW and Uncharted and I don't have a switch. MH is just an excellent franchise and I still think not enough people have played it, even though World sold like hot cakes.

I feel you but we have to make the best of the hand we are dealt. Maybe some day though, some day.

MHRise is definitely what I'm hyped for. I found out that I can run the demo at like 100+ FPS and it's just amazing.

On a 3090 the demo ran at like 50-60fps for me at 10K and was perfectly playable at 90+fps at 8K. It's not exactly graphically amazing, somewhere between GenU and World, but the upside is that it'll run on lower-end PCs very well 👍

Shame I didn't like the game itself tho :/

That's not a bad thing though. Rise changed a lot by adding the wirebug and additional movement. A lot of people still prefer World/Iceborne.

As big players of MH me and my missis both hated the wirebug. This game is a pass and yeah, we're staying with MHFU/MHGU/World for the time being. Just in general the game went from methodical combat to a weeby hack'n'slash, which I'm sure appeals to many people, but those people aren't us. Unfortunate, since I used to always get excited about a new western MH title coming out... This one gave me the wrong vibes from the first trailer.

Grabbed rdr2 in latest steam sale and it just came back to me from a year ago when i played it on a fat chonky ps4. Like I never left. I always thought i should've grabbed it earlier but now i'm not making same mistake. I'll be getting it day one or even pre order. These games were truly highlights of precious gen.

I'm a big advocate of replaying older games on new hardware, so speaking of RDR2 - It's something I'd recommend revisiting when you upgrade the hardware at some point in the future. With DLSS Quality at 4.5-5K res the game runs buttery smooth (like 90fps) and looks detailed and crisp as you'd expect from marketing screenshots. It's a beauty to behold and I can only imagine some day revisiting games like that at 8K+ and thinking how much of a facelift the experience gets just from that :)

In general many games hold so much untapped detail which is revealed when playing on newer hardware (or even emulated on PC, as is the case with consoles)
