Capcom’s latest entry in the Monster Hunter series is finally landing on PC tomorrow after being a Nintendo Switch exclusive for nearly a whole year. But what time exactly will Monster Hunter Rise unlock in your time zone? Thankfully, we know the answer even if Capcom hasn't officially confirmed it yet…

Monster Hunter Rise is officially launching tomorrow (January 12th) on PC, and although Capcom has not yet officially revealed the unlock times, based on the last two major releases (Monster Hunter World and MH World: Iceborne) as well as the official Steam store page, we can see that MH Rise will unlock at approximately 9am PT (12pm ET / 5pm GMT). Unfortunately, no information has been revealed on pre-loading, but the base game is only 23GB at launch at least.

Monster Hunter Rise PC unlock times

Monster Hunter Rise PT (US West Coast) ET (US East Coast) GMT (UK) CET (Europe) AET (Australia)
Time 9am 12pm 5pm 6pm 4am
Date January 12th January 13th

That means Monster Hunter Rise will unlock at 9am PT on January 12th for those living on the US West Coast like Los Angeles, or 12pm ET for those on the US East Coast like New York. For the UK that will be 5pm GMT, and 6pm for Central Europe. Lastly, for those in Australia that will be 4am the following day (January 13th).

What do you think? Are you excited for Monster Hunter Rise? Did you already play it on the Nintendo Switch and plan to continue playing on PC? What is your favorite Monster Hunter game so far? Let us know!

Getting it for the PC, can't wait, it seems just as awesome as World.

I would have probably liked it if not for the wirebug, but as it stands now it feels like a downgrade in every way, including combat :/

Hmmm... how much of a downgrade?

Though it makes sense to be a downgrade considering it's a switch game.

The combat feels a lot less methodical and more "wack at it till it dies", which I don't generally enjoy in games. The game doesn't need to be punishing like MHFU was (high damage from monsters punishing the player for mistakes; rigid animations demanding forethought before attacking, otherwise you can cart; generally few rewards from quests, requiring some grinding for gear) - World already has a very fluid combat system that me, my missis and basically all my friends who play MH think is a great evolution for MH - fluid enough to give you a lot of mobility and options, but still requiring a methodical approach to an extent. Rise seems to take this even further, but now into the realm of hack'n'slash, rather than whatever genre ("soulslike?") MH generally occupies. They also removed meals and made those dumb little birds be the source for health/stamina bar increases, etc.. The maps are also unnaturally big and empty for no other reason than to fascilitate the dog mount and the wirebug mechanics. Just weird changes like that. Also very flashy - even Team Darkside (prominent MH speedrunning team, popular streamers) complained about that - they can barely make out what they're doing anymore in Rise... xD

Anyway, these are my ramblings. I'm a bit salty that it's the first title I genuinely have no excitement for xD

Can't reply to you, so I'm replying to myself:

Hmm, yes Monster Hunter is soulslike, but I'd say that soulsborne games are monster hunter-like as MH pre-dates them.

And the changes seem to be towards a style I prefer less too, but still if it's more DMC-like I'm still happy for the game and I really dislike mounts for the reason you stated, they just bloat the size of the world and it ends up being very empty.

FU was my first MH game and I love it to death, but it's dated and not as good, 4U and World take the cake, which is normal as they are much newer, and I didn't like the dodgy hit boxes in FU.

Also I don't fully grasp the healing system with what you described, but I'm sad they removed potions.
