IO Interactive have been keeping hush about what exactly we can expect when Year Two of content launches for the latest Hitman title. Today they announced many more details, including new content, an official Steam release, as well as a few teases for what to expect later in 2022.

Hitman 3 is officially launching on Steam on January 20th along with a Hitman Trilogy bundle that includes all 3 of the latest games, as well as the Trinity Pack (a pre-order bonus for H3) for purchases within the first 30 days. And as if IOI couldn’t make it any better, the entire Hitman Trilogy is also coming to PC Game Pass on January 20th.

Hitman 3 Year Two will also start on January 20th. As for actual content, IOI showed off the new Elusive Target Arcade mode, which is essentially another version of the Elusive Target mode.

Coming later in Spring 2022 will be the new Freelancer mode, which sounds a bit roguelike-y where players will need to plan missions and buy equipment to prepare for them using money earned from previous missions. But die or lose your stuff during a mission, and you’ll have to buy it back again.

PC VR support is also arriving on January 20th. Additionally, IOI revealed that ray tracing will be coming “later in 2022”, as well as support for Intel XeSS. Finally, the developers teased a new map coming later in 2022, Codename: Rocky. More details about the new map will be revealed later in Year 2.

So yeah, quite a lot of good news for Hitman fans, and all in the span of 15 minutes. Many of the announcements are sure to make fans happy, like the Steam release, PC VR support, and Game Pass availability. It’s a shame that the actual gameplay content side is a little lacking at the launch of Year Two, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.

What do you think? Are you excited for Hitman 3 on Steam? Have you been waiting to get it on Steam? Will you be double dipping? What extra content/features are you most excited for when Year Two starts? And what content are you most excited for coming later this year? Let us know!

Have you been waiting on a Steam release for Hitman 3? Or did you already play on EGS?

What are you most excited for when Hitman 3 Year Two launches?

What upcoming content or feature are you most looking forward to in Year 2?

I wonder when the writers of these articles actually learn to make polls. You're going to mess up your results if you don't offer "other/none" option.

There is no need of other/none if they let us see results instead of forcing a vote

True but that would mean adding more code to the poll. Adding one more option requires no code and can be done by the writer even with current system.

They lost my sale when they made it Epic exclusive and I was unable to play EVERY OTHER FREAKIN GAME that I had purchased on Steam. So no, they can suck a fat one with their app exclusives.

Thank god. I've been waiting for the proper release since the announcement. Previous 2 games were a blast, this one is definitely going to be there too.

Sweet - Steam release is what I waited for. It should be a blast to unite all 3 games now under one big roof 😁

(still salty about this slap in the face to Steam owners... at least I guess EGS owners beta-tested the game for a while, if I have to find a positive to that...)
