It’s hard to imagine that in a single week we got two console exclusives coming to PC. Granted, one of them was always planned to come to PC but just took a while. But the other used to be a PlayStation console exclusive, and marks the third major game to come to PC from PlayStation in the last year-ish.
We are of course talking about God of War, one of the most highly rated games for the PlayStation console and most anticipated games for PC. It almost feels like a fever dream at this point and us PC gamers are waiting to be woken up. But it is in fact real, so no need to go around pinching everyone.
So today we want to know your thoughts on the PC port, what you think of it so far, how it is performing, and whether you’ve already played on console and comparing the PC version, or whether this will be your first playthrough. Depending on the success of God of War on PC, we might see God of War: Ragnarok come to PC sooner than this one did (fingers crossed at least!).
Either way, it’s a great time to be a PC gamer. At least in terms of games though, definitely not the hardware side. But I guess everything comes with its own pros and cons. One thing remains certain though: it’s clear that the PC platform is still the ultimate place for games, as the new ultrawide support and uncapped frame rates for GoW can attest to.
So what do you think of God of War on PC so far? Are you enjoying it? How does it perform? Have you already played it on console or will this be your first playthrough? And what PlayStation title do you think will come to PC next (apart from the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection)? Let’s debate!

Its a good game, just a few graphical bugs here and there but hopefully they get patched

4K DLDSR, DLSS quality, tweaked settings and I'm getting north of 120fps - nice!
That being said... it's barely a God of War game... The camera positioning is different (over the shoulder like...every other RPG...), tons of RPG elements added that weren't there in the series before, I'm sat for minutes at a time just watching cutscenes before I get to press E to open a door and watch more cutscenes...
Don't get me wrong - it's a great game! But it's not a "God of War" game as we've known it.

One thing I hate (and there's no edit button, so I'm making another comment) is that the mouse is...once again...an emulated analog stick. Feels terrible to pan the camera.

So I never played a GoW game but I am loving this one. Love the whole up close brutalities you get to perform on enemies. I dig the atmosphere and cinematic story-telling as well.
I have seen footage of earlier games and they seem to have the Darksiders style of combat which is also nice. They changed up the formula for this game but at least they delivered when it counted.

Those close-ups used to be quick time events. I was actually surprised that I just need to mash the attack button and that's it first time I got a big enemy. It's definitely not a bad game by any means, it's just not a traditional "God of War" is all. The over-the-shoulder camera and added RPG elements just make it feel more generic than it should have. The rest is great tho.
Edit: If I had to say - this new GoW kinda plays similar to Kena: Bridge of Spirits now after the changes to the formula. Well, Kena came out later, but I played Kena first, since GoW wasn't out on PC.

Just bad amd performance, that's sad
PC Specs
Its a good game so far (watched walkthrough about 40% on YT until i found out its coming to pc hehehe) and performance is good (also strange that there is no fullscreen option)... I wish they added an option to be able to switch to Vulkan, its would help a lot! Performance wise, in a year or so this will be even better since they probably fix and improve most of the stuff :P
PC Specs
this game is great no crashes no nothing had to mess with settings but i still get 60 like 15 hours in and loving it again
PC Specs
at what settings are you getting 60fps?
PC Specs
I have a problem with desktop flickering (showing itself for a moment), especially when in menus - apparently it happens when no input is being made. Wish the game had a fullscreen mode.
Also had 2 crashes in 3 hours of playing.
PC Specs
i play it in fullscreen and nothing crash try to reinstall ?
PC Specs
it's working good on VEGA 8, but there's only one thing I didn't like which is DX11.1 required
PC Specs
if it's working for you, what's there to dislike about DX 11.1 being required?
PC Specs
my bad; I didn't explain why exactly I hated it, it's all because I have another GPU that supports DX12 Feature level 11 and the game is not working
PC Specs
performance si great, 110 fps +- 1440p on ultra.
PC Specs
If i can add something to this, There was disscusion on reddit of memory leak, a 6900xt when loading the game sucked only 6 to 8 gb of vram, but after few hours of playing the game sucked 15.9 gb of vram and the game crashed. i dont know if it happend on nvidia gpus, but the radeon had that leak
PC Specs
I was playing for hours and hours yesterday - no crashes or anything. Wouldn't have noticed though, if it's a VRAM issue.
PC Specs
Performance is horrible on AMD GPUs , FPS is all over the place it can go from 100 to 45 fps and back in 2 second , this happens a lot near doors or areas which load/stream the next part of the map , also the the lake the fps goes down to 45-50 and GPU usage is stuck at 60% !! I'm really disappointed I hope they fix this AMD related problem.
PC Specs
Reason why i did not go with AMD
PC Specs
yeah.. nvidia totally never has any problem... not like the game crashed 2 times in 3h for me (using an nvidia gpu)
PC Specs
it doesnt mean that crashes are caused by nvidia either
PC Specs
I've never had a crash in GoW on my rig. I consider it a very polished port - no major bugs, no crashes, no stuttering, the framerate is reasonable. The only annoying thing is the mouse emulation.
PC Specs
i dont think AMD has had their game ready driver drop yet. but think it was with nvidias update a couple of days ago. i waiting a week or so for the halo driver to drop and performance went from a jumpy 60fps avg to a solid 140fps.
PC Specs
ok they have but is the optional beta driver. should try giving that a go, worst comes just DDU the driver and you only back to square 1
PC Specs
You should try vulkan fix. Some say this gives upto 10fps on amd cards.
PC Specs
Performance is great, but I think it needs some optimisations, because VRAM usage is almost 8gb while I'm playing on 1080p. I wonder what would happen on hugher resolutions.
PC Specs
Thats weird, im noticing 7.5gb on my end even tho it says 6.3gb vram in the menu, 4k max settings DLSS on balanced to keep a stable 60 fps
PC Specs
there was a report on reddit of potential vram memory leak, game is filling all the vram as you play it for longer period
PC Specs
I voted only to see what others think.
I wonder how many people do that too?!
PC Specs
Me too lol. Apparently, it won't work on my pc because of the DX11.1 issue. I hope they fix it.
PC Specs
i heard that there is a work around it, some messing with game files to switch the game to vulkan instead of dx and that whay it should work
PC Specs
Hmm, maybe DXVK?
PC Specs
That 750ti had a decent run
PC Specs
Yeah, we need a view results button on here.
PC Specs
Or better yet, just make it like it was before the change.
PC Specs
I hope not everyone ...😊
