After seemingly having learnt their lesson, CD Projekt Red has kept very quiet regarding any more details in terms of updates and new content for Cyberpunk 2077. Recently, the developers hosted another livestream, where they casually dropped the latest patch for the game by surprise, and oh boy is it a big one.

Patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 is the biggest update so far for the troubled game, bringing next-gen optimisations for the current generation of consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S), but it also adds a bunch of PC optimizations as well as some brand new free DLCs…

Whilst the update is mostly geared towards a next-gen console version, it also adds some improvements for PC players, including improved performance and stability, a bindable ‘walk’ key, an in-game benchmark tool, as well as support for both Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).

The free DLC should also be welcome news to fans, as the update adds apartment customization (as well as multiple different apartments to rent across the map), character customization within your apartments, and new weapons and weapon mods to purchase at Wilson’s gun shop.

In terms of the 1.5 update at large, some notable highlights include improved combat and crowd AI behavior, improved driving, a completely reworked perk tree, and of course a bunch of bug fixes. The update is available now for PC and consoles and comes in at a whopping 50GB, so make sure you have enough room on your storage device.

You can check out the full Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 patch notes here.

What do you think? Have you tried the Patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077? Do you think it is a good improvement? Have you noticed any improvements? Have you been waiting to play the game still? And do you think Patch 1.5 is a good place for new players to start? Or should they wait a little longer? Let us know!

If you have played the new patch do you think it is a significant improvement?

What is performance like for you after the new patch?

Is the latest update a good place for new players to jump in?

The patch tanked my FPS tho, but it's to be expected since they updated their AI Behavior..

That's pretty weird. I didn't experience any performance degredation. On the contrary, after turning on FSR on Ultra Quality i gained a solid over 60 FPS average.

I'll give it a replay on the PS5 upgraded version. So far it looks kind of like before on Performance. On RT it's just half the FPS with little improvement. Too bad I can't import the PC saves so I can just mess around.

Why bother with a PS5 when you have a PC more than capable for this game + RT and DLSS for a speed boost?

I’ve sold the desktop already and finished the game once on it. It can run well on the laptop without RT as well, but now at 30, I’ve become the thing I’ve sworn to destroy, a couch casual, especially since 60fps here feels like 100-ish on PC and I’m ok with that.

Ah yes, I should finally get Ace Combat. It was so much fun on PS1 back in 2001-ish.

It improves some stuff, but definitely it is still far from fixing whole game. That will take way more than one bigger patch. As for whether it is time to pay, it depends. Do you want quality experience? Then wait. Do you just want to get over with it? Then go for it, so you can then move on. Would I recommend you buying it? Nope, I guess on sale, maybe, but as long as you are aware that you are buying at best 7/10 game and that it is buggy. Yes, it really works well when stars align, but this doesn't really make it overall good. And story can't save whole rest of the game.

And if someone comes to tell me how they don't see bugs... make sure you pay visit to any of nearby eye doctors, I did test game recently, bugs happened pretty much on first mission I tried. And sure, you can fix it by mods, but times when that was "cute" and I would let it slide are in the past. Either CDPR fixes it or they don't, it definitely isn't my job to fix it with mods for them. But they can hire some talented modders who are fixing it and let them help. Some modes actually do make a difference.

Still plenty bugs atm, some new ones added where i see the ai just warp to there spot to start walking, prob going to be a few years till its sorted, and even by then there will still be a few bugs in the game

Another year and another 10 patches down the line I may finally buy the game 🤣

1 year 3 months in and CDPR finally made it so 2 summoned cars don't just explode into pieces by spawning in the same location. Another year and the police/peds/traffic might have some basic pathfinding too! 🤣

The new polling system is one of the reasons I don't use this website as often as I used to. 😕

And the hardware comparison. Now you have to keep re-entering the same thing to compare it to something else...

It's pretty awful and since it feels like this site is not getting improvements at all these days, I stopped recommending it to people. I would gladly jump to another website at this point but most have so low "news floor" that whole site just gets filled with garbage like "TOP 10 Games Where You Can't Believe Who Voiced Your Favorite Character"

To be fair there is no other site like game debate, sure there are gamgin and hardware news, but i find GD to be more complete and let you use your rig and customize it, it is lacking the FPS user submit feature and im good with it, surprised there are not hundreads of comments on this site and kinda sad at the same time.
