As we come into the fourth month of the year, 2022 has already been a massive year for gaming, with some of the most anticipated titles in the last few years all launching within the same 12 month window. Now that we’re already a quarter of the way through, we wanted to know what is your favorite game of the year so far?

Now there’s a lot of games to talk about, and some of them may be a bit hard to compare with each other. For instance, God of War initially came out in 2018, but it made its PC debut in January this year. Horizon Forbidden West was also highly anticipated by many, but launched exclusively to PlayStation consoles.

So to make it a little bit more fair to PC gamers on a PC gaming website, we’re only talking about games that were released on PC this year, and only going up to the end of March (sorry, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, see you in 3 months time!). The poll below will also only include AAA titles so as not to be swarmed with a hundred titles to choose from.

Of course, let us know all your thoughts in the discussion area below, especially if your favorite game of the year so far is not among the list in the polls. Also, maybe you really enjoyed two different games this year, in which case just pick one as your favorite in the poll and tell us about the other one below!

So what do you think? What is your favorite game of the year so far? Was it a AAA title, or an unseen indie? Which month do you think was better for gamers in 2022? And which games are you most excited for this year? Let’s debate!

What is your favorite game of the year so far?

Which month do you think was better for PC gamers in 2022 in terms of game releases?

What genre of game did you play the most in 2022 regardless of when the game was released?

Do you think 2022 is the best year for gaming in the last decade?

Horizon forbidden west is number 1 for me. Second spot Elden ring and third spot would have to go to dying light 2. Would really like to get some GoW Ragnarok news soon tho.

I was so dissapointed when playing The Witcher 3, because I couldn't get into liking the gameplay.

Dissapointed because I oddly enough cannot enjoy this absolute masterpiece of a game, I know it is amazing everything about it is perfection, I still whip myself for it just not being for me.

GoW for me. I know it's not a "new" new game, but it was for us on PC, so that's that (and I didn't spoil anything for myself prior to playing xD)

Elden Ring would probably be a second, didn't see anything else exciting come out. Well, beside the Steam Deck, but that's hardware :D

Loving this year so far Sifu, Elden Ring, Ghostwire Tokyo, Final Fantasy Origin and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

There are also more interesting releases this year like Starfield and Hogwarts Legacy. Kerbal Space Program 2 also probably releases this year.

It will probably be a community favorite when it gets released on PC like GoW.

Ever since they added the quick pickup feature I've been having a blast. Even on PS4 the game just looks gorgeous!

  1. Elden Ring,

  2. Monster Hunter Rise - have not beaten it yet

  3. Final Fantasy Origins - have not beaten it yet.

To me GoW2018 is well GoW2018, it's not a new game, but if I had to rank it, it'd be second

I still haven't played Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but I'm looking forward to it.
