Everyone knows that CD Projekt Red has been tirelessly working on fixes for Cyberpunk 2077 after their troubled launch at the end of 2020. Since then we’ve gotten a few free DLCs, but no indication on when the first major story expansion would launch. Thankfully, CDPR has finally given an update on when we can expect it.

The first major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 will officially launch in 2023. Keeping with their new rule of not announcing dates too early, we have no idea when exactly in the year it could be released. However, more updates are planned until then, with Patch 1.6 releasing “in the coming months.

According Adam Kicinski, joint CEO of CD Projekt, the development teams will slowly move towards “new, exciting endeavors in both Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises,” referring to The Witcher 4 which was recently officially announced, along with other smaller projects the studio is currently working on.

Additionally, Kicinski said that the recent delay of The Witcher 3 next-gen edition has not affected development on other titles, but didn’t reveal when we might expect the free upgrade after CDPR took over development from Saber Interactive. Either way, we’ll be learning more about that project, along with more details for CP2077’s expansions and updates, later this year.

What do you think? Are you excited for the first major story expansion for Cyberpunk 2077? When in 2023 do you think it will be released? What would you like it to include? Let us know!

People still play this? CDPR will always have its fanboys no matter how bad they mess up.

Well, I started the game only recently, due to the bugs and all - I just wanted to wait for "more finished" game. And as I understand, many people are like me.

I love CP2077 and can't wait for new expansion. Or multiplayer. Or both.

Yeah, I waited for so long to actually get a stable game and play it (still had many bugs).

I actually played it just before patch 1.5 came out. By that time this expansion should've come out.

Now that I completed the game, I have no interest in this anymore...

First story related expansion after 2 or more years from launch....I can't even bring myself to be even a little excited for this.

The Cyberpunk situation is their biggest fail and it continues to fail even more.

"Its dead Jim" fits in the case of Cyberpunk.
