One of the most important aspects of a Horror game is immersion, which takes multiple elements of a game’s design to create a single and truly immersive experience. In the latest developer livestream for the upcoming Dead Space Remake, the devs focused on an “Art Deep-Dive” highlighting the new levels of immersion, and even announced an official release date finally.
Dead Space Remake is officially launching on January 27th 2023. So we’ve still got a while to go unfortunately. Thankfully though, there are 5 new developer videos to check out, all focusing on “unprecedented levels of immersion.” The 5th part of the series even shows off another “atmospheric walkthrough” like we saw in a previous livestream. Check them all out below:

According to Roman Campos-Oriola, the Creative Director for the DS Remake, with a release date in sight the team is now focusing on development for a full gameplay reveal in October (likely around Halloween). It’s unclear whether that means no more developer diaries until then, but at least we’ll get to how it’s coming along later this year.
What do you think? Are you excited for the Dead Space Remake? How do you feel about the gameplay/developer videos above? Does it look a lot better than the original? Or not as much as you expected? And are you even more excited for the remake now? Let us know!

Welcome Back, GD!

So why are they hyping up a game that's more than half a year away?

Still time to sell the old version to people who are excited but cannot wait!

They've been showing pretty much every development step of this game since the beginning. Hyping up a game is releasing a CGI trailer years before they've even started working on the game. Anthem and Cyberpunk are the best examples. This isn't it. This is what developers should actually be doing, but very few are. Also, hyping up a game when it's less than a year until release is about the perfect time in my opinion. The problem is that most of the time these days they're announcing a release date that is impossible for the devs to meet and then they delay it...

Hyping the game up by literally showing the game is possibly the best thing. Not just showing the game, but literally showing us the thoughts and the tech behind it is SO refreshing.
More studios need to do this. As a developer, this stuff sells me more than anything.
