RTX 40 series graphics cards could be launching as early as July 2022

With the Summer of 2022 coming up now, all eyes are on the next generation of graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD (as well as Intel!). Global chip shortages and inflated GPU prices mean we’re all hoping the next-gen cards will give us our salvation, and according to a new rumor, Nvidia could be launching theirs sooner than expected.

Rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but resident leaker kopite7kimi has successfully leaked lots of valuable info in the GPU industry, and as such is considered quite reliable. Last year they mentioned the RTX 40 series from Nvidia would launch a little earlier than usual, and recently followed up that statement with an early Q3 release date.

Early Q3 means as early as July all the way to mid-August. The RTX 30 series was revealed in September 2020, so it’s a lot earlier than anyone expected. If true, Nvidia could have a sizable lead against AMD’s RX 7000 series and especially Intel’s upcoming Arc Alchemist GPUs.

There’s no clear event happening when Nvidia could be announcing their cards. Although Gamescom 2022 is happening in Q3, that’s in late August, and Computex is returning this year in just under 2 weeks time. However, it’s unlikely we’ll get any reveals or announcements at Nvidia’s Computex keynote, but it wouldn;t be surprising to get a quick tease.

What do you think? Are you excited for the RTX 40 series? Do you think it will launch in Q3 2022? Or is that too ambitious and will actually launch later? Let us know!

When do you think the RTX 40 series will be revealed?

I think Q4 is the best bet, it is too early to release those GPUs, i gotta say im kinda interested in what kind of perf the 4080ti will have and if it doubles the perf of my 3070 i will def get that gpu.

I don't think it can. If it did double performance, it would draw a crazy amount of power.

1080ti was better than 780ti sli. 2080ti was better than 980ti sli. 4090ti will be better than 2080ti sli if history repeats.

2080ti and 3070 are comparable.
