One of the many gripes gamers have about today’s gaming industry is the issue with regional pricing, as new titles in some countries will be much higher or lower than the standard pricing you will find in the US or UK. Well, Sony’s highly anticipated upcoming PC port of Spiderman has had its price reduced in some regions following a regional pricing error…
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is launching on PC in just under 2 weeks, and if you have already pre-ordered the title on Steam recently then you may want to check if the price has now been reduced. That’s because those in the UK, Australia, and 5 other countries have had the official pricing reduced.
This includes the UK, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, and Switzerland. On average you’ll be saving around £10($12) based on currency conversions, so that’s a pretty sizable discount for those who already bought it. Sony has advised those affected to cancel their pre-orders and repurchase them in order to get the cheaper price.
If you live outside those regions then you won’t see any savings unfortunately, as there’s no word on whether the regional pricing will be changed for other countries. The blog post just says that it was “incorrectly priced” in those areas, so who knows about other regions. If you do cancel your pre-order though, make sure to repurchase before August 12th when it will be released, that way you’ll get the discount and the pre-order unlocks.
What do you think? Have you pre-ordered Spiderman PC? Are you in one of the affected countries? How do you feel about the price in your region? And do you still pre-order games? Or only some or none at all? Let us know!
