Among all the buzz for next generation graphics cards, it can be easy to assume this year’s launch might take longer than the last, or be completely delayed due to component shortages. Thankfully the Red Team have reaffirmed their release windows for next gen hardware, including their upcoming GPUs and CPUs.
According to AMD, the Ryzen 7000 series processors are still due to launch in Q3 2022, which means a September release is highly likely with an official reveal of pricing, specs and performance at around the end of August. As for the RX 7000 graphics cards, they will be launching later in the year, with the high-end GPUs being released first as per usual.
AMD Ryzen 7000 rumored specs
CPU | Cores/Threads | Node size | Clock speed (GHz) | Cache (MB) | TDP | Price (USD) |
Ryzen 9 7950X | 16/32 | 5nm | 5.5 | 80 | 105-170W | $700 |
Ryzen 9 7900X | 12/24 | 5.4 | 76 | $600
Ryzen 7 7800X | 8/16 | 5.3 | 40 | 65-125W | $400
Ryzen 7 7700X | $300 | |||||
Ryzen 5 7600X | 6/12 | 5.2 | 38 | $200 |
If a September release is true, and an august reveal date as well, then that means we are potentially just a few weeks away from finding out the official specs for the Ryzen 7000 series. We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the RX 7000 graphics cards though, but so far the rumors are looking pretty exciting in terms of performance.
What do you think? Are you excited for the Ryzen 7000 series? Will you be upgrading your CPU this year? Which one do you think you’ll go for this time? Let us know!

My 7700k is getting long in the tooth, so I would love to shove a 6 core AM5 chip in there knowing I have a 3D chip and probably another gen to look forward to. Let's be real, 10% here or there won't matter 1440p/4k I will be GPU bound.
PC Specs
Well if the next gen Gpus are good as these so called leaks or leakers say, than 1440p would b e ideal for people. And maybe it willt be GPU bound only on 4K?
PC Specs
Eh, just got a 5800x3d from AMD when i RMAed my 5800x, bought a new x570 board as well. I dont think it's gonna be a huge jump from 5th gen ryzen anyways. I'm more interested in the stacked GPU. Plus the new mobos will have pcie 5.0 and ddr5 so be even more expensive then x570. I thik im good for now, 7000 gpu and a waterblock ill be good for 3440x1440.
PC Specs
All this new hardware and no real new games to put it up against :/
PC Specs
cp 2077 comes to mind
PC Specs
Visually yeah, but I just hoped a bit more depth from the cp2077 RPG systems :/
PC Specs
After the Witcher 3, I expected CP2077 to not have very deep RPG systems.

So the 12 and 16 core CPUs have different cache size for once. Might be enough to get me to splurge on the 7950x. Wonder what this will do for the performance of my 6900xt compared to my 5900x.
PC Specs
They both have 64MB L3 Cache, it's just that the per core L2 cache of 1MB gets counted too.
PC Specs
Sooooo.... They have different cache sizes then. Thanks for clearing that up.
PC Specs
The 5900X has less L2 and L1 cache than the 5950X as well, becuase L1 and L2 cache is tied to the cores and the 5900x has 4x disabled cores, only the L3 cache is the same, just like the rumored 7900x and 7950x.
PC Specs
I highly doubt those prices.
PC Specs
true, they will all go up for atleast 100$
PC Specs
Depends on what intel answers with, once intel 12th gen entered the conversation all of a sudden all the zen 3 ship prices took a nose dive
PC Specs
Let's hope both of them keep each otehr's boots on each other's throats.
