The next Grand Theft Auto is officially in development, or at least it was announced as such earlier this year, but if rumors are to be believed then it has actually been in development for even longer. Nevertheless, after its announcement Take Two has now commented on how the new title will elevate the series, and industry, as a whole.

The GTA series has always been pretty popular, but Grand Theft Auto 6 will likely be the biggest one yet. We still don’t know exactly when it will launch (though 2023-2024 is a rumored window), but Take 2 seems pretty confident about it after a recent financial update, and reiterate development is in full swing:

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, said: “with development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases.

There’s a lot of interpretations that can be made about that comment, but it’s likely just to reinstate confidence after a recent report claimed that GTA 6 would include a female protagonist and be set in Miami. Though with how far Rockstar has pushed technology in their previous titles, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the next GTA game will have some impact on the entertainment industry as a whole.

What do you think? Are you excited for Grand Theft Auto VI? What new changes/improvements are you hoping to see in the sequel? How do you think it will elevate the entertainment industry? Let us know your thoughts!

When do you think GTA 6 will be released?

Instead of two interiors we will have three? Mindblowing stuff, truly only rtx 10000 will be worth it.

How? By releasing it unfinished and adding the endgame and other stages mirroring a live-service format in a single-player game? Elevate the industry? Focus on the game Take-Two and stop sniffing your own hole.

Cool investor meeting quote. I disliked GTA 5 all the physics and simulation aspect took a step back from GTA 4 where cars had awesome deformation and different "feel" from each other. I don't expect GTA 6 to go back towards a more realistic physics engine.

Yes, I've always said that GTA5 was a downgrade from GTA4 in terms of mechanics and gameplay. The only thing I like better is the first person mode.

I remember having hours of fun just messing around the playground (glitch) with a car, where the swing would slam the car into a random direction and watch the physics do its thing.

Yup and Vice City had the car flipping infront the hospital in the first town, slamming it in the parking curb, made it even more amazing with cheats that sped up cars and slowed down time, with those you also got thousands of dollars for it. XD
