Hot on the heels of the recent news that Tomb Raider will have a multiplayer, Square Enix has now just uploaded their first multiplayer footage.
Will it be worth the effort, or should they be concentrating more on the singleplayer? Let's see..
Many fans have been vocal that they'd rather not see a multiplayer element to this game, as they thought it would negatively impact on development of the promising singleplayer. According to the developers these negative reactions were caused by a lack of information. That problem apparently seems to be solved now.
In the trailer (called 'The Final Hours #4'), you can see how the work of Eidos-Montréal has turned out. The singleplayer was taken care of by a different developer team: Crystal Dynamics. Due to this, the singleplayer's development hasn't been affected by the existence of the multiplayer. So if you do not want a multiplayer, just don't play it.
Joe Khoury, producer of Eidos-Montréal, said he wanted to bring over the feeling of 'having to survive' in the multiplayer. In the multiplayer, you will have to fight with a team versus an enemy team. You can fight each other with guns and the famous bow. Boobytraps such as falling tree trunks are also lurking dangers.
Are you looking forward to the multiplayer?
