The Sims 3 was released four years ago. Nevertheless, Electronic Arts have once again announced even more DLC.

The Sims 3 has nearly 20 DLC's and action packs released already, and they're still coming...

University Life and Island Paradise are the names of the new DLCs, which will come out next after the previously-announced January 22nd release date for the '70s, 80s & 90s Stuff' pack.

The University Life DLC will let the Sims go to college and study. They may choose between six subjects, and they can follow various lessons. Next to that, they can also get into the notorious student nightlife. A new city is included, with a bowling club and fast food restaurant. A limited edition of this DLC will be released, which includes exclusive parties and a Partaeus Maximus statue. The DLC will be released in March.

Island Paradise will be waiting when the students have graduated. Players can live in houseboats and explore various islands. On those islands they can build houses and even a hotel. It is also possible to take a dive in the water. Island Paradise will be released in June.

Next to these DLC's, EA has hinted at yet another new DLC which will feature time travel.

A reason for you to pick up the Sims 3 again?

They should just move on to Sims 4. There have been so many DLC packs and they are all around $20 which is absolutely insane! I don't think the game itself was more than $50.

i like the sims alright but you get quickly bored, still due to not much possibilities...
when a dlc comes out, you go back playing the sims for a month, and when you've discovered the new stuff, you get bored again...
what the franchise really needs is hard work from the developers so that you could truly consider the sims a complete life-simulation game

It's been almost 4 Years. The juicy expansions have been released. I think it's technically over for Sims 3 but EA will keep draining money of the hardcore fans.
Personally I am looking for a Sims 4 with a new optimized engine and even more freedom but that will take time and money and again we will lose all the previous content.
