On January 30, Electronic Arts (EA) held their Q3 2012 financial earnings news conference.
Frank D. Gibeau, President of The EA Labels, was asked about Medal of Honor and EA providing a first person shooter year over year.

At the end of his reply, Frank pointed out...

"We've already talked a little bit about that we have a Battlefield title coming next year, but we're not in a position right now to talk about our development plans and our SKU plan long term.  That will come in about 90 days when we get to show you some Battlefield stuff."

That would put the Battlefield 4 reveal date sometime around April 2013.

John S. Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, informed the media "titles at the scale of FIFA and Battlefield are what drives your profitability inside of EA."

"We think Battlefield and FIFA are going to help us lead as we move into the next set of technology opportunities and platform opportunities, and continue to get bigger."

With EA following the Call of Duty model of first person shoot, have provided a first person shoot the past 3 years (Medal of Honor, Battlefield 3, MOH: Warfighter.)  Each of those releases have all occurred in October and would not be a bad idea to see B4 come out around that time.  B4 is expected to be released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and the upcoming next gen consoles provided by Sony and Microsoft.  However, do not expect to see it for the Wii U as EA has stated it would not be released for the Nintendo based console due to the poor outlook and revenue.  (Who is going to lose sleep over that?)

Frostbite 2 + fail? Why? I started enjoying the FB2 system while playing The Run..it demands more, but with lower settings, more chance you'll still enjoy the graphics :)

Or are you pointing at something different?

Wait I think I get it. He means "I think it'd suck if they used FB2 because then it wouldn't have better graphics." Not saying BF3 had bad graphics but...... a big advance with a new engine would make it difern't. Like how COD 2 and 3 were just crap versions of COD 1.

New games like the new call of duty's all have modified engines. The new black ops 2 is not running a different engine that modern warfare 1. There are so many updates and additions to it that change it drastically. Im sure even if the FB2 engine is used for the next battlefield its going to be modified. Many games do this because makeing a whole new game engine is a major feat

Modifying the engine dosen't warrant enough of a diffence in graphics or mechanics to make a whole new copy of the old game out of thoe. It's the same game except for different maps and SLIGHTLY different multiplayer mechanics.
So I HOPE they have enough ideas to make it innovative enough to warrant the need for another. Other then that and they're just doing it for the cash because they know they have a big enough addicted fan base to buy anything with Battle Field tagged across the front......like COD or MOH....."War Fighter" really?

Yes a new engine is very nice to have. But a modified engine does make a major difference. Ever play a game where it boots up and it says it running a game engine but has different thing in it that arent in another game with the same engine? With a modified engine you can add physics, better lighting effect, better performance :) because of better coding and the unnecessary taken out, etc. plus id say the difference is about 200+ thousand $

I also smell frosbite, more destruction, bigger maps, more players, more weapons, better graphics, etc.
I think it is worth it. I'll be buying premium, it was worth it in bf3. Itll also be in bf4 i hope.

@_@ You must be BF3 hardcore fans & lots of money to spend for this game. First time I bought BF3, I feel like buying a car without a tyre, it's not a complete game. When the premium version came out, I like "Oh, they sold the tyre separately". EA is using people like you. Now they plan to target Dead Space 3 Fans.

Yeah, i wouldnt buy dlc, id love to get maps free, but think about it. If it was free, it would have almodt no content. Besides, if i want those maps what am i gonna do? I stopped buying cod dlc, but i aint leaving bf behind. These dlcs are actually worth it.

Money is the only thing EA ever cared about. They ruined Dragon Age 2 by forcing Bioware to rush it out the door. Hopefully they won't ruin Battlefield 4 too :(

yes. MW2 without dedicated servers, mods, it just wasnt a good game for PC. And remember, that was when they signed up with microsoft for release dlc before other platforms. This means that maybe microsoft ruined COD. We will never know...

Was the windows update finished? or it got interrupted in the middle?
Are you using manual update or auto update? if manually, did you use the Win7 Sp1 x64 not the x86?
I think it's not your driver, check your CPU proccess in task manager, or with the CPU & RAM monitor gadget.

thx to both of you
it seemed that the drivers weren't uninstalling properly (even with driver sweeper)and after restarting the pc, my pc was detecting my gpu not the intel hd graphics.(since the drivers were uninstalled my comp should have detected the integrated gpu)so the problem was drivers&#60

so i uninstalled the drivers once again and this time windows recognized my intel hd graphics
therefore i came to know that drivers were the problem.
so i installed the earliest drivers(which come with CD)
so now the drivers are right and windows wasn't the problem

Don't get me started on EA's greed. I can only imagine what Nintendo thought when they read this. I just hope Battlefield 4 is designed for the PC first, like Battlefield 3 was.

the reason is that most of us love to play military fps games!!games like mirrors edge we play it for some while and then just quit it.when we play games like bf 3, we dont feel like stopping.even after we have completed the game, we want to play it again.so thats y DICE is focusing in military fps!

How long you think they will last though? some thing better will come along in the military aspect, hey Projekt just now owned the RPG franchises with NO LOAD TIMES while having a big map!!!! EA just upped the graphics, and made the maps bigger. I wonder if EA will make virtual reality helmets, and charge you a fee to access the content to use it lol.
