Space games all tend to follow the same rough formula - expand, explore, exploit and exterminate - commonly known as 4X games.
Occasionally though you get a wild card, a game that brings something new to the table; Star Drive looks like it may well be one of those games, so lets see if you can run it with our Star Drive System Requirements...
Star Drive Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD Sempron 3500+
RAM: 2GB System Memory
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS or ATI Radeon HD X1900 XTX
DX: Direct x 9
HDD: 2 GB Free Hard Drive Space
Star Drive Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 64bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz or AMD Athlon X2 4800+
RAM: 4GB System Memory
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS or Radeon X1900 XTX or higher
DX: Direct x 11
Once more we see the illustrious 8800 rearing its majestic head, although confusingly both in the minimum and the reccommended; have no fear, GD will always keep our pages up to date with realistic requirements! Other than that, a happily light game for requirements.
Star Drive sees you starting small as a pilot in the depths of space, slowly moving up in the world, and creating your own ships! Customise your ships with a large range of hulls, modules, weapons and fittings, all attached how you like; your ship is your own!
Also: Bears. In space. Be afraid.
The game is currently in closed beta, and StarDrive is due to release on the 19th April 2013.
Is this going to play like Kerbil Space Program? How crazy are your ships going to be? Tell us below!
