PAX East has officially begun, and already we've seen the first big announcement: Blizzard are releasing a Free to Play Collectible Card Game based on their popular World of Warcraft.
The game endeavors to be rather cute and lighthearted, with an animated board and recognisable characters...
The game will be played out on a 3D animated board, with your cards coming to life as they act. Cards seem to be split as you'd expect between characters on the board and action cards, with various effects.
The game will be Free To Play, and will have a competitive mode to allow you to play against other players. According to Blizzard, packs of cards will be purchasable, with one pack having around 5 cards. The pricing hasn't been confirmed yet, but expect it to be around $1 each. Blizzard have promised to make sure that the feeling of opening a real booster pack is retained. Decks will be customisable, naturally, and there is a feature to "fill out this deck" if you can't decide on the cards to bring your deck to the required size.
Not much information is available yet, but expect more to come as we continue to keep an eye on PAX East! Here's the cinematic trailer we have:
So, do you think this new game will be big? Will it capture the hearts of the current WOW players? Tell us what you think!
