Jagged Alliance : Flashback is now live on Kickstarter for funding. If you weren't born in the '90s, Jagged Alliance is an old school isometric turn-based tactical strategy game.
After previous games have failed to attract the same following, everyone is hoping this remake will be worth it...
Jagged Alliance: Back In Action, the previous game in the series, angered fans by changing its gameplay from turn-based to 'Plan and Go', causing the game to get panned by reviewers, but Flashback should prove much more faithful to the original.
Danish developers Full Control, who are developing Space Hulk at the moment, will create this reset of Jagged Alliance through Kickstarter. The funding request at the moment is $350,000, and of course there are backer rewards including T-shirts and (if you're a really diehard fan) being a storyline NPC.
Jagged Alliance: Flashback tells the story of the founding of the most famous Jagged Alliance Universe mercenary team, known as A.I.M. Set in the 1980's cold war era, on the island chain of San Christobal in the Caribbean sea, a coup d'état by the Socialist regime established on the island brought USSR troops onto the island.
Seeing this as a threat, the USA sent out a crack team; under secret orders from the CIA, it is now up to you to assemble a team of capable mercenaries, restore the democratic government on San Christobal and drive out the U.S.S.R. presence by any means necessary.
