I'm rather confident that there are more than 14 Final Fantasy games these days, but naming conventions aside, this relaunch is looking like a gorgeous MMO.

Of course, with the new engine it looks like the game will need a fair chunk of hardware to run; lets find out with the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn System Requirements...

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+

RAM: 2GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or ATI Radeon HD 4770

DX: DirectX 9

HDD: 20 GB Free Hard Drive Space

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 64bit

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500T 2.3GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 970

RAM: 4GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 560 Ti or Radeon HD 7970

DX: DirectX 11

I beleive the first thing to say is Ouch. For the best performance in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, you'll want to start with a Radeon 7970; for max settings, you may well want more. Having said that, the minimum requirements are not too high, and honestly, the graphics in the game do look gorgeous.

The game is a relaunch of the original Final Fantasy XIV MMO, which didn't look nearly as pretty; this version has new content and a new graphics engine, and is set in the storyline as a sequel to the previous game.

Are you needing more eye-bleedingly pretty MMO's in your life? Have you guys ever dived into the massive Final Fantasy universe before? Tell us below!

It was an awesome card. Now it's the reign of 650ti and 660 when it comes to budget gaming.

Of course if someone buys an nvidia card today with a mid budget, he ll get 650 ti boost, i agree. but when 560 ti came out, everybody were shouting at forums about how it could max crysis 2, and it is still a good card for most games, and decent even for the heaviest current games
