The monster MMO known to the world as WoW has a major update sat on the horizon.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

This is their 3rd major expansion and although Blizzard are traditionally quiet about the exact release date, it was expected to fall around the beginning of November 2010.

New rumours flowing into the gaming universe today are starting to point towards a WoW expansion release in the first weeks of January 2011.

More precisley Cataclysm is likely to be released between 4th and 18th of January 2011.

Blizzards annual show Blizzcon will be held at the end of October, 22nd/23rd and it is very likely that the release date for Cataclysm will be made official at the event.

The rumours began when the retailer giant Amazon.com began emailing their WoW Cataclysm pre-order customers explaining that the game is unlikely to be available before the end of the year.

Naturally Blizzard are tight lipped about all of this and so as usual we will all have to wait to find the true World of Warcraft Cataclysm release date, but we reckon it will only be a few weeks until we find out at Blizzcon, as WoW Cataclysm is well in to its Beta phase.
