Origin has long been slammed for having no extra features compared to it's competitor, Steam, and how it forces people to install the service to play certain games.
They are at least working on the features part - the current beta update contains client Achievement support for popular games, along with "Origin Points"...
Origin points are gained by completing achievements - which makes the whole deal start to sound a lot like Microsoft points. If true, it could be a point in Origin's favor, as the achievements (although widely used by developers) have no other effect on Steam.
The patch will also bring advantages to the streaming/broadcast system and the ability to make full use of your 64bit hardware when launching via Origin.
So, do you guys think people are going to be as obsessive about their "Origin Score" as Xbox players are with their gamerscore? Or will this just be another gimmick to try and get people to use Origin? Tell us what you think.
