Saints Row 4 System Requirements

System Requirements Optimum 1080p PC Build Low vs Ultra Screenshots GPU Performance Chart CPU List That Meet System Requirements GPU List That Meet System Requirements

Saints Row 4, despite nearly disappearing with its publisher, THQ, earlier this year, is to release in only a couple of months. Well known for its rude, tongue in cheek humour and open world, over the top action, this game has won over the hearts of many as the game that will go where GTA will not.

What PC hardware you need in order to have some fun with goofy weapons, fight crazy aliens and kidnap celebrities? Lets look at the Saints Row 4 system requirements to see if you can run it...

Saints Row 4 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Win Vista (x86 or x64) with SP2

CPU: Quad Core Processor such as an AMD Phenom II X4 or even Intel Core i5 or Dual Core 3GHz+

RAM: 4 GB Memory

HD: 10 GB of free hard drive space

GPU RAM: 1GB RAM GPU with Shader

DX: DirectX 11

Audio: 100% DirectX 9.0C compliant sound card or equivalent onboard sound

Saints Row 4 Recommended System Requirements

OS: Win Vista (x86 or x64) with SP2

CPU: AMD Phenom 9850 2.5 GHz or Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5 GHz

RAM: 4 GB Memory

HD: 10 GB of free hard drive space

GPU: Radeon HD 5850 1GB or GeForce GTX 260 GTS 1GB or better

DX: DirectX 11

Saints Row 4 system requirement mini review

First point of interest, the recommended SR4 requirements look almost identical to the minimum system requirements. This means that once you meet the min you are likely to get a well rounded gaming experience.

The operating system suggested is Windows Vista but that does not natively support the other requirement of DirectX 11. So we suggest making sure you have Windows 7 running in order to play Saints Row 4 to be on the safe side.

The minimum RAM requirement for St Row 4 is 4GB, this RAM minimum requirement is what we are coming to expect over the coming 12 months especially with the new consoles just around the corner. However, once you meet the 4GB it does not seem like you will gain any benefits from having any more RAM spare as the recommended RAM for Saints Row 4 is also 4GB.

Realistically Saints Row 4 is expecting you to be weilding a quad core CPU, even in minimum requirements.

The Saints Row 4 GPU requirement seems to want the 1GB GPU RAM as minimum. We do not always trust the GPU RAM requirement because some powerful GPUs have slightly less than 1GB and other weaker GPUs have far more than 1GB, thus making the figure sometimes hard to work with. Make sure you use our system requirement tool to give you a good guideline though and make sure you give your own feedback when the time comes.

Saints Row IV takes place a couple years after it's predecessor. The leader of band of celebs known as The Saints has been elected as the president of the USA. And so this time around you will be defending the Earth from an alien invasion and you get to play as an awesome kickass President, who personally takes the fight to the enemy. SR4 also maintains its open world craziness that we have come to love.

The game has not yet been announced for all the next-gen consoles, but currently is set to release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS4 on August 20th, 2013 and August 22nd in the UK.

Once we get our hands on this title we will know far more and then put it through its paces on some of the GD machines.  As always we encourage you to give your feedback also, once you get your own version of the game.

the missing memory will be used from your HDD which is MUCH slower than actual system memory without enough ram you can't get the framerate you should have

its not the space that is the issue :D its just the hard drive is not fast enough to make up for the lack of ram, believe me i remember when i only had 2GB ram to on my Athlon 64 x2 4000+ build it was a tough spot then and its a tough spot now i suggest you take advantage of the lower ram prices if you can

i have 32bit system so i have 3,3GB RAM and believe me i had some problems with certain games . i remember when i played Tomb raider my game slowed down few times and minimized to desktop with a message "You are out of memory the colour scheme will change..." something like that.
So 4gb is a must for games today even if the game dont reqiuers 4gb you will always have some background programs.

These requirements are bung as. The minimum CPU requirements are higher than the recommended, and also the 260 gts mistake and DX11(?) as has been pointed out.
What is the source of these requirements?

Thats what i thought. But getting a 7950 might get me another year or two, right?
Will my CPU bottleneck a 7950?
I can't overclock my CPU.
BTW i'm not talking about maxing out in all games.
I'm talking about 35+ FPS in all games at low to medium settings for the next 4 years.

if all you want is low to medium settings you can keep that 7950 for your suggested 4 years although i cannot say for sure what with new consoles showing up who knows how demanding games will get, btw the 7950 can max games probably for a good year and a half

Thats what i wanted, all games playable at 35+ FPS @720P with low to medium settings for 3-5 years.
But some games like Battlefield Bad company 2 look horrible at 720P in my 1080 monitor (too many jagged lines in buildings when viewed from a distance). Games like mafia 2 look good even at 720p.

Do you thing they can handle for 4 years at 720?
If not i would wait a few months for the next generation GPUs to be released so that current gen GPU prices will come down.

I can tell you as an owner of the 7870 :D that the 7870 will last you 3 to 3 and half years as a rough estimate please keep in mind that these are merely educated guesses since new consoles are arriving games will get more demanding but since you are only looking for medium settings at 720p i can safely tell you that it will last about 3.5 years

How it's not a typo? if the game only supports DX11 then the GTX 260 won't be able to open it just like Crysis 3, so either GtX 260 or DX11 is a typo right?
