When the first big games like Project Eternity and Broken Age managed to succeed on Kickstarter, everyone was amazed at the amount of money that was being raised.
Some thought that was as much as you could raise from crowdfunding; a myth handily destroyed by Star Citizen, who just celebrated breaking $14 million of funds...
In fact, it's only been three days since they broke the $13 million barrier! And according to that announcement, the previous million took only 4 days. That's $2 million in just a week, a staggering amount no matter how you look at it.
What do you get for all this though? The game's feature list is getting quite extensive, with each million in funding unlocking more chunks of content. If you back the game now, you will help fund a huge, open world space MMO, with it's own economy and AI characters.
Fit your ships the way you want, fly with your friends, become pirates or traders - plus with the new unlocks, you can land on numerous locations on Earth, log off in space while exploring, or even (if the game gets to 16 million) take part in challenges and tournaments in the VR combat sim.
So what do you think, has this game proven itself worthy of your cash? Or have you already funded the project? Tell us below!
