Wasteland 2 is a successfully crowdfunded old school Turn Based RPG that is believed to be the true sequel for Fallout series.

The game is developed by InXile entertaiment, who have recently said that they will be getting Deep Silver to be helping them release the game, as well as the Kickstarter rewards...

They stress that Deep Silver will not be affecting the game's development at all, merely handling retail distribution and the shipping of physical rewards to the Kickstarter Backers. Many people are concerned that getting a publisher to help with the game is in some way removing the point of Kickstarter, but once again InXile say that the game is completely funded by them.

Deep Silver is an established publisher, who has handled large games such as the Dead Island series and Metro: Last Light. Not only will they be shipping the retail version of Wasteland 2, they will be helping the games testers by using international QA testers to check the translation quality and localisation.

InXile have quite a lot on their plate, including developing Torment: Tides of Numenera, which was just as successful in it's Kickstarter campaign.

Wasteland 2 is due to be released in Q4 2013, so are you guys eager to see it? Do you think that the game will be better for having the extra help? Tell us your thoughts below!

Few people noticed this, especially younger gamer. If you didn't know, the original Wasteland was the main backbone inspiration for Fallout and Fallout 2 they both use a turn based genre that are popular in the 90s. Fallout 3 was a disappointment for the old fan of the Fallout series. So they spend their money to get their "original" Fallout back trough Wasteland 2

I know this. The point is how is this a 'true sequel to Fallout' when Fallout 1 and 2 were inspired by Wasteland? If anything, Fallout 1 and 2 were the 'true sequels' of Wasteland. Wasteland 2 can't be a 'true sequel' to the games inspired by Wasteland. That doesn't make sense.

well, it's makes sense to me, although the lore of Wasteland 2 is similar to the original Wasteland rather than using Fallout's world. that mean the game uses a old-school turn based RPG mechanics which is favorite among classic Fallout fans but still not had any relation for Fallout's lore.

Well, anyway, it doesn't matter very much. Great article, otherwise. Really looking forward to this game.

i think its a great choice
as long as they wont get involved in the development itself -getting extra help is always good

especially when the publisher don't affect the game's gameplay :)
