With the demise of Atari and the subsequent sales of it's assets, we've seen a lot of classic IP's suddenly being bought up by current companies.
Wargaming managed to beat out Uber Entertainment to pick up the Total Annihilation IP, along with Master of Orion...
Uber Entertainment are of course creating Planetary Annihilation, a spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, with many of the devs who worked on the original game. It's not clear how Wargaming would add the franchise to their existing game world though.
Wargaming also picked up Master of Orion, while Rebellion took home Moonbase Commander and Battlezone; with Stardock only managing to take Star Control. These classic IP's have been locked away for years, but we may now see these strong studios making true successors for them.
Do you guys remember playing these original games? Which would you most like to see a sequel to? Tell us below!
