Rockstar's latest instalment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise is shaping up to be the best one yet, with a wide range of upgrades from the previous title.
There's just one problem: Rockstar have no official plans to release Grand Theft Auto V on PC. This has naturally spawned a campaign, with the petition getting stronger every day...
A petition on Change.org is calling for Rockstar to release the game on PC, and has recently reached the 200,000 signature milestone. If this isn't indubitable proof that PC gamers care about the franchise, then what is? The petition says:
"Please release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people's lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have. I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it'll make many people very happy!"
While Rockstar are not obligated to even respond to the petition, the massive amount of signatures should help to sway them away from a console-only release. Given the past release history though, it's almost certain that we'll see a PC version a few months down the line from the official release; it never hurts to make sure though does it?
The petition can be found here if you want to add your name to it.
What do you guys think, will Rockstar release the game for PC earlier because of the petition? Why do they make us wait so long anyway? Tell us your thoughts.
