In case you missed it, a new Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag trailer crept up onto shore yesterday, showcasing some new gameplay footage of the naval combat as well as commandeering a fort on foot.

Assassin’s Creed 3 had its flaws, but everyone certainly enjoyed blowing great chunks out of enemy ships from the comfort of their souped-up galleon; something which we'll be doing a lot more...

This gameplay trailer highlights the renewed emphasis on naval combat and exploration, allowing you a far greater degree of control over your ships abilities.

Each of the worlds zones will have a fort, staunchly guarded by rival pirates or soldiers, which must be captured in order to commandeer the territory as your own. Once claimed it will defend you from enemy attacks as well as allow you access to the spoils of war within.

The games new protagonist Edward Kenway is able to scope out the territory with his trusty old spyglass (he really couldn’t be more pirate-like if he tried). Once you’ve marked out your targets, you can order your ship to unleash the mortars, decimating all before you.

Anyway I won’t spoil all of the fun, take a look for yourself:

Does this shiver-your-timbers or have you got Creed fatigue? Let us know below.

Wasnt cooler to take a small boat with a few camards and head to the shore? No, lets dive directly into water, or even better a rock/wreck ship... (3:35)
