Only a few days ago a pretty exciting new trailer was released for Gaijin Entertainment's Free-to-Play WWII combat MMO, War Thunder. In it you'll take to the air, land and sea to beat your foes.

The video looked great, and although it didn't contain actual gameplay footage it certainly got our attention. Hopefully the War Thunder System Requirements listed below will give you an idea of how it will look on your PC...

War Thunder Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP SP2

CPU: Pentium 4 2.2GHz or Athlon XP 2200+

RAM: 1GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT series or AMD Radeon 1900 series

DX: DirectX 9.0c

HDD: 8 GB Free Hard Drive Space

NET: Broadband Internet connection

War Thunder Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz or Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+

RAM: 4GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 460 or Radeon HD 6850

So from the looks of both the minimum and the Recommended War Thunder System Requirements, it's not asking too much from your PC. Obviously at the lower end of the scale it's not going to stack up against what's being shown in the trailers, but it means it'll probably run pretty well on all but the most beaten up rig. The recommended requirements aren't all that high either so it would be interesting to see what would be considered ultra system requirements for War Thunder. Considering it's a Free-to-Play title, there's no reason why you shouldn't give it a go.

Let us know what you think of War Thunder below. Are you likely to play it now that you've seen the system requirements?

Yes, no doubt. It is pretty difficult to do well in War Thunder, but when you do it feels great. Check the youtuber BohemianEagle for tips and so on.

British dogfighters and trolling with any kind of early rocket or big cannon planes is epic fun. I love my IL-2 and Hurricane Mk. II. Also tier 1 British premium (You get 1 premium, depends which nation gets your first battle (choose wisely))

The game has been fully out for ages now on the PC. It is coming to PS4. There is a crapload of gameplay videos. Check your facts. But the land and sea battle aren't implemented yet. I have had the game for almost, I don't know, 7-9 months now?

It's in beta, I imagine it'll be "officially" released when it's the full game, with air, land and sea battles. And why are you asking him to check his facts? He never said that there aren't any gameplay videos, the article is about the new CGI trailer and the system requirements.

Yes, my apologies, that's indeed true. Seemed to miss that. However, in my opinion there should been some mention of the current state of the game, to avoid confusions like this. But no harm done ;)
