We met with Kerberus Developer, Chris Stewart, at E3 and he told us a few interersting things about the upcoming Sci-fi Strategy Sword of The Stars 2. I believe Squee is putting together our meeting with Chris as I speak so you will get to see some of those points very shortly.
But what I am interested in during this news piece is the SotS2 system requirements. We pressed Chris for some details during the show but the Stars 2 requirements were still undecided by that point. What we did know was that due to game engine development we are looking at Direct X 10 machines at a minimum. However, we now have the requirements in hand and there are a couple of hefty surprises.
Sword of The Stars 2 Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
CPU: Core2 Duo or equivalent
GFX: 512-MB DirectX 10
HDD: 2-GB free space
DX: February 2010 or newer (DX10)
Sound: Any Windows Vista compatible sound device, stereo speakers or head phones
Control: 2-button mouse and keyboard

CPU: Intel i5 equivalent or better
GFX: 1-GB DirectX 10/11
Display: 1650x1080 or greater
Sound: Any Windows Vista compatible sound device, 5.1 speaker configuration for full effect
Control: 3-button mouse and keyboard
* Internet required for online play. LAN required for local multiplayer.

We are excited! This is the first game to just come out and recommend 6GB RAM. We will be very interested to see if this is actually needed, so as always give us your feedback on all the requirements posted here.
We will be using the recommended system requirements for Sword of the Stars 2 Lords of Winter in our requirements tool intitially until we get some feedback, which will come from our own tests when the game goes live and info from you guys and your views on the 6GB RAM requirement.
