Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag: is Ubisoft's next instalment in the hugely successful Assassin's Creed series, with the latest offering set in the violent colonies and on the pirate ships of the 18th Century Caribbean.

With this cross-generational, next gen title looking pretty impressive, we spotted the Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag system requirements and wanted to share them with you so you can check to see if you can run it...

Assassin's Creed 4 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP 64bit, or Win 7 SP1 64bit, or Win 8 64bit

CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q8400@2.6 GHz / AMD Athlon II X4 620@2.6 GHz

RAM: 2GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 / AMD Radeon HD 4870

GPU RAM: 512MB VRAM with Shader Model 4.0 or higher

DX: DirectX June 2010 Redistributable

HD: 30 GB

AUDIO: DirectX Compatible Soundcard with latest drivers

PERIPHERALS: Windows-compatible keyboard and mouse required, optional controller

Assassin's Creed 4 Recommended System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 64Bit, or Win 7 SP1 64Bit, or Win 8 64Bit

CPU: Intel Core i5 2400S 2.5 GHz / AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0 GHz or better

RAM: 4GB or more system memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 / AMD Radeon HD 5850

GPU RAM: 1024MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or higher

SUPPORTED GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or better, GT400, GT500, GT600, GT700 series or AMD Radeon HD4870 or better, HD5000, HD6000, HD7000 series

GRAPHICS DRIVERS: Latest Geforce drivers tested: 320.49 for all series. Latest Radeon drivers tested: 13.1 for Radeon HD4000, 13.4 for Radeon HD5000 and above.

As is usual with laptop versions of these graphics cards, they may work with AC4 Black Flag but are NOT officially supported.

Looks like they're after a quad-core for minimum, which may concern quite a few people still running a dual-core but, as we covered on Monday, AC4 is looking like it could pack a real punch graphically.

The official requirements have now been removed from their original placement on Ubisoft, suggesting perhaps that they may still be subject to minor changes.

We will update any possible changes as soon as we know any more.

Check if your rig will be able to run Assassin's Creed 4 with our Assassin's Creed 4 System Requirements.

maybe, only maybe. your CPU is well below the minimum. It's worth a try but you may find that your computer is too weak.

Medium settings on that resolution for smooth gameplay 30-40+ fps :)
This game will be optimized very good for PC,so even medium to high with lower resolution :)

at your resolution you might be able to play but because your GPU is so weak I'd say that you would most likely be dealing with less than 25FPS.

I don't think it is. even at your resolution the difference in performance is just too high between the minimums and your card.
your CPU is also most likely too weak to play this game.

So perhaps if these requirements is true, it is meant for the full experience of the game? I mean the devs said the requirements won't be much higher than ACIII just the minimum requirements will be pushed a bit. So perhaps the game is playable and everything is well when shutting down most of the next-gen graphic features as they said we can do. Correct me if I am wrong please!

If we could turn these features OFF then the game won't differ much from ACIII at all except for the large scale of the world that needs higher processing power yet if we compare the very bad optimization of ACIII to the so-called and hoped good optimization of ACIV, then I have a chance to play the game on high as I did with ACIII, any expert to correct me here? :D

I'm no expert but you have a good point on this one :)
Devs of AC4 said taht Dual core on 3ghz is enough for this game so we should both be safe buddy ^_^
I'll be satisfied with low settings...You with that gfx should be able to play on medium for sure, don't know about high but medium for sure on that resolution if game is optimized good :)

And If I remember good,on that video where Ashraf Ismail shhown thsoe effects,he turned them of and then off to show us the difference so there must be an option in graphics section to turn that off :)

@mrkac1994, actually not all things can be turned off, something like the new sea engine and the 3D foliage cannot be turned off, it is something embedded in the core of the engine yet I experienced no great deal of FPS drops resulted from fog, smoke or fire in AC3 so I am hopeful that if the game is good optimized, I shouldn't suffer from those new effects.

AC4 supports DX10,but watch dogs doesn't.AC4 also supports win7 32bit,Ubisoft is not giving support if game has some problems to 32bit users if they have any issues with the game, but game itself supports it.
All that's left is to pray that it's optimized good :D

according to this, I should be playing the game on high or med-high. I could almost max ACIII were it not for Boston low frame rates. I don't know when they will finally give us a strait answer!

the article I linked to said that while a quad core processor would be best, a dual core at > 3.0GHz could scrape by.
based on the requirements on this page your CPU is too low to play but your GPU could manage. it really depends what you consider playable. I played the most recent tomb raider on my old laptop which had a gpu that was very far below the stated minimum and it got a smooth 15FPS because the frame time variance was so good.
