United Front Games has confirmed that is working on a new game in the high-kicking, gun-toting Sleeping Dogs Universe.

Sleeping Dog’s publisher Square Enix recently trademarked Triad Wars and this has become the eventual title, so it sounds like those of you who enjoyed the Hong Kong themed take on GTA’s carnage are in luck.

In Sleeping Dogs Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting

In an update on its website United Front Games said “So, we’re making a new game! We can’t say a lot about it right now, but you might have read about a trademark registration for something called Triad Wars? Well, we’re super-excited that it’s another game based in the Sleeping Dogs universe, it’s something we’ve wanted to do for ages, and we’re very happy to be working with Square Enix again… but that’s all we can give you for the time being – we’ll have more information about what the game’s going to be in 2014.”

Sleeping Dogs came out in 2012 to considerable critical acclaim, racking up sales of nearly two million copies across PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Originally a resurrection of the ill-fated True Crime series, Sleeping Dogs didn’t do as well as Square Enix had originally hope but nevertheless still crept into profitability. Anything that means more kung-fu is fine by us.
