EA Confirm Titanfall Will Not Be Coming To PlayStation ... Ever

EA have confirmed that Titanfall will remain exclusive to Microsoft platforms permanently.

Previously, the title was only a confirmed exclusive at launch, fuelling speculation that it could be a timed exclusive and that developers Respawn might at some point build a version for PlayStation.

However, in a conference call to investors this week, EA's Blake Jorgensen announced that Titanfall's exclusivity is “for the life of the title”.

The news that Titanfall won't be coming to PlayStation 4, well, ever, apparently wasn't only news to gamers. According to Twitter, even the game's developers were only made aware of it very recently. Vince Zampella – head of Respawn – Tweeted yesterday that although the game was always going to be an exclusive at launch, it was only recently that publishers EA signed to make sure the game remained solely on Microsoft platforms.

“Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is food for a startup. EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently =( ”

When asked by a fan whether Respawn would ever make games for the PS4, however, Zampella replied “Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall”.

Could we possibly infer from the phrasing of this that possible future Titanfall games might be available for PlayStation? The first Titanfall is yet to release, but with the huge hype it is already causing, a sequel seems far from implausible.

Titanfall is due to launch on March 11th on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

What do you think about Titanfall being a confirmed, permanent exclusive for Microsoft?

Do you think deals like this are bad for gamers?

Would the chance to play Titanfall encourage you to invest in the Xbone, or are you more likely to just get the title for PC?

Let us know your thoughts.

Can't wait to buy this game! Gonna max everything out, if optimization is good, that is.

Wait wait, you didn't read it right. Respawn was against this and wanted it to come to PlayStation. EA and Microsoft on the other hand.. They wanted to **** over Respawn and milk their game for money.

It's not just that man, Ubisoft wanted to take hell out of PS4 with Watch Dogs, but the game that takes hell out of PS4 wouldn't be able to run on Xbox One so nicely. Then Microsoft (probably) payed Ubisoft to cut framerate on 30 FPS and power of PS4 won't be used.
You have to admit, Microsoft becamed **** after Windows 7, they're ruining everything that was good, like Xbox 360...

Then SUCKS! ... EA is becoming the worst games maker company now...and Titanfall will erase it's sells bcuz the PS4 will sell better than that Xbox 0..or 1... whatever ...

I'm quite hyped about this but IMO, somehow Titanfall is like CoD with Robots and jumping jetpack.

I'm not into mech games or online only titles so I don't care. I'd rather play this on PC than on the Xbone if I decided to buy Titanfall the next time EA has a Humble Bundle sale.

Could be but let's not forget that Dead Space 3 was released in February and 6 months later you could get it for next to nothing (like I did) from a Humble Bundle. I really think people outside of the Madden/FIFA/Battlefield fanbase refuse to give EA any support. Their reputation is shot. I avoid EA games unless they are on sale at 75% or more or in a Humble Bundle.

well why not? screw you ps4. i never had anything to do with consoles, i was always a pc gamer but the HATE Xbox one is recieving is annoying. i dont think ps4 is so much better. i even think xbox one can be better than the ps4 in some cases depending on what you ask for. i can understand someone prefering the ps4 or anything but these amounts of hate... i guess marketing IS everything today. few mistakes and you get rekt.

Titanfall is running on a new version of Source Engine... As long as you upgrade to 8 GB RAM, high to max settings should not be a problem...

All I seem to see are game companies favouring the xbone over the playstation, I'm more than sure Microsoft paid them off like they do other game companies, so for that I'm going to be pirating this one

They're trying to gather support for the xbone that's all. can't blame them, playstation has them beat 2-1 in pre-order. ill buy it for PC, a decent gaming computer easily beats these next-gen consoles
