There’s a certain cyberpunk game coming out soon, and no I’m not talking about that one. Ghostrunner is coming out in exactly 4 weeks time on October 27th, and we got the chance to play an early Steam demo build, and it was a lot of fun.
It looks like AMD has patented a design that seems to be rather similar to ARM’s big.LITTLE designs, that sees the performance capabilities of ‘big’ cores combined with the power efficiency of ‘LITTLE’ cores. The idea being you have the best of both worlds with high power computing and low-power efficiency all on one chip.
It’s been over 25 years since we last got a mainline Streets of Rage title, how crazy is that? When Streets of Rage 4 was announced all the way back in 2018 it was well anticipated by longtime fans of the series. Whilst we’ve been anxiously awaiting the news of a release date, we finally have a new trailer and info for when the fourth entry launches.
Unfortunately no bowling with Roman in this one. Travel across the desolate highways of the USA, scavenging for supplies, befriending other survivors and stealing cars as you try to not get killed by the cosmic horrors that surround you in Dead Static Drive. It’s a survival horror, but mixed with a touch of light-hearted goofiness as characters can fall over and your car handles like a bar of soap in a nervous inmate's hands.
It’s finally happened. Years after Rebellion teased is very existence, Evil Genius 2: World Domination has been revealed to the world. Evil Genius 2: World Domination updates the cult classic management formula for a modern audience. Players must build their own nefarious underground lair, fill it with goons, and defend it from spies and the Forces of Justice.
It’s not often we get something genuinely fresh looking the world of racing games, but newly-announced all-terrain racer Overpass certainly has us sitting up and taking notice. It’s from Zordix Racing, who’ve been plugging away on mid-budget racers like Snow Moto Racing Freedom for some time, while Bigben Interactive is handling publishing duties.
The ever-industrious Larian Studios have unveiled yet another Divinity game. I’ve only just managed to finish the gargantuan quest that was Divinity: Original Sin, let alone D:OS2, but new games from the turn-based RPG maestros flow like ale from an everlasting flagon.
DotEmu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games have resurrected the Streets of Rage series after 25 years laying dormant. Streets of Rage 4 is an all-new continuation of the arcade brawler, complete with co-op skull smashing and all the chicken you can eat.
Okay, so I definitely wasn’t alone in having doubts about Rage 2, particularly when we knew so little. But, well, Bethesda has just revealed the first gameplay trailer for Rage 2 and it looks pretty fucking awesome.
Yesterday a rumour of a Star Fox racing game cropped up on Reddit and 4chan, which seemed improbable on its own merit. Since then though, Eurogamer, Game Informer, and Kotaku’s Jason Schreier have all claimed they have sources close to Retro Studios suggesting this rumour is, in fact, true.
Part F-Zero, part Splatoon, Trailblazers is the new racing game from Superplonk and publisher Rising Star Games, eschewing the usual racing rules in favour of a co-operative experience. Two teams are pitted against one another, with the twist being that players can paint the track behind them their team’s colour, boosting the speed of teammates who subsequently race across it.
