Humankind is the next historic strategy title from Amplitude Studios. Pick and build a nation and take them through the ages. Evolve your culture, and probably your armies, then run amok across other cultures that you left twiddling sticks in the stone age. Build up your leader and push your character's fame ever upward as you crush your foes. Humankind is looking to take on the mighty Civilization series and is aiming to release in April 2021.
While some of the finer gameplay elements of Civilization VI out back and superplexes it through a bin. Seriously, they’ve got Civ VI looking like a quaint little mobile game.
We’re set to get plenty of behind-the-scenes looks at Endless Legend creators Amplitude Studios. Revealed at E3 2019, Humankind showed all sorts of awesome premises but kept an awful lot hidden away from prying eyes. This game’s a direct attack on Civilization’s dominance of the genre though, so it’s understandable Amplitude and Sega would like to keep more of it under wraps until closer to launch.
We knew Sega was gearing up for a major AAA announcement at Gamescom and now we know exactly what is - Humankind is the monstrously ambitious new 4X strategy title from Amplitude Studios, the outfit behind the sumptuous Endless Space and Legend franchises.

Patrice Désilets’ Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey has become the latest game to fall prey to the temptations of the Epic Games Store. The Assassin’s Creed creative director’s ambitious open-world survival game will be coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store on August 27th, 2019.

It’s from the original creator of Assassin’s Creed, Patrice Désilets, and his team at Panache Digital Games, and it’s going to be an episodic, narrative-driven adventure, all set within an open-world sandbox.
