It's flying a little under the radar at present but Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Metroid: Samus Returns developer MercurySteam is finishing up work on its first ever original IP - Raiders of the Broken Planet. Teams of up to four players can co-op through third-person shooter jaunts through an alien world, hunting for loot and new gear. It sounds a bit like third-person Destiny, to be honest, and it's free-to-play so there's no harm in giving it a go. Before you start that 10GB download though, here are the official Raiders of the Broken Planet PC system requirements.
Raiders of the Broken Planet’s Prologue will be launching on September 22nd for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, developer MercurySteam has announced. The asymmetric 4v1 co-operative shooter pits a team of four into narrative-based missions on an alien planet. At any point, another player, dubbed The Antagonist, can invade their session and fight alongside the bad guys. It all sounds a bit like Borderlands meets Evolve, and MercurySteam has big plans for it.
Remember MercurySteam, those folks who used to work on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? Well, they’re back now with Raiders of the Broken Planet, which takes a few cues from Evolve in being a 4 v 1 asymmetric sci-fi action game. A brand new trailer has just released for Gamescom in Cologne, the world’s largest gaming conference.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam has been teasing a new game reveal for way too long, but after a month of painstaking teasing it’s taken the wraps off of Raiders of the Broken Planet. I guess there’s one immediate takeaway from this - It’s a top-tier name. MercurySteam have got you all beat.
