If you’ve at all been following the recent news of PC hardware and more specifically with graphics cards, you’ll probably have heard of the insane amount of stock shortages for the new RTX 30 series GPUs from Nvidia. Well if you’ve been trying your hardest to buy one in the UK, then a recent statement from ASUS says that you can expect stock levels to rise soon.
Almost 4 years ago, the wonderful Titanfall 2 graced our screens, but it didn’t exactly rack up all the success it was hoping for. Now, with the release of several of EA’s titles on Valve’s digital storefront, Steam, Titanfall 2 has found new success as it is currently the number 1 top seller on Steam, and surprisingly has more players than any other Battlefield game combined.
Xbox seems to be teasing the release of a new Halo game tomorrow morning, and by the order they’re going in, that will be Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary have been released on PC.
World War Z is getting a Game of the Year edition in the next month because, well, I guess someone gave it Game of the Year? It’s almost like games companies can self-proclaim their titles as ‘Game of the Year’ without anything to back it up. Anyway, the new edition comes complete with all the DLC including a new episode to play, weapon and character packs, as well as access to all the free content added to the base game after it originally launched.
The next-gen console launches are increasingly looking in peril after a number of unforeseen factors have possibly been affecting both the manufacturing and the costs. Bloomberg is now reporting that Sony is running into significant problems with the PlayStation 5, claiming manufacturing costs have now risen as high as $450 per console, raising the gloomy spectre of a prohibitively expensive next-gen console launch. 
We’ve been basking in cheap NAND Flash memory for the best part of 18 months now but the good times could be about to come to an end. 
I dearly wish Star Wars: Battlefront 2 had a top-notch launch, I really do. Sadly, as we all know, it emphatically didn’t. In the intervening two years, DICE has stuck by it though, transforming what was once an ill-advised cash grab into what is now, by all accounts, a great arcade online shooter.
THQ Nordic has pulled a surprise rabbit out the hate with the launch of a Gothic Remake playable teaser, which is available to download and play right now on Steam.
Just as we’re seeing in the desktop PC market, worldwide sales of PC monitors are down 2.2 year on year according to data from IDC, with a grand total of 30 million monitors sold during the past quarter. This is typical of the global market’s shift to laptops, tablets, and other mobile computing devices.
UPDATE: And a little sting in the tail for Arise: A Simple Story, a charming little adventure which was announced last week. Techland Publishing has announced that Arise: A Simple Story will be an Epic Games Store exclusive when it comes to PC.
Bandai Namco has shared the second trailer for Tales of Arise, its ambitious new outing from the long-running JRPG franchise. Showcases at Tokyo Game Show, the Tales of Arise ‘A Fateful Encounter’ trailer showcases a few mysterious cinematics alongside some very slick combo-based action gameplay.
