Finally confirmed for PC yesterday, Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be the third Yakuza game to release on PC, and the first to utilise the new Dragon Engine used for Yakuza 6. Kiwami 2's visuals promise to be a big step up from the original Yakuza Kiwami, and this means a similar step up in Yakuza Kiwami 2's PC system specs.
The naughty so and so's have been teasing it for a while, but Sega has finally confirmed the obvious - Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to Steam. The Dragon of Dojima makes his triumphant return on the third outing in the services to come to PC, continuing the epic tale of Tokyo’s warring clans.
Now we don’t want to go getting ahead of ourselves but Sega looks as if it could be changing its default approach to using Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM.
First announced for PC last year, Sega has teased Yakuza Kiwami will be coming to PC through Steam on February 19th.
Sega is really spoiling us with Yakuza this year. The fourth Yakuza game in 12 months is inbound, leaking on the Taiwanese PlayStation store. Sega is planning to officially reveal Yakuza Kiwami 2 this weekend to coincide with Yakuza Kiwami’s August 29th launch. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake of the original Yakuza 2 for PlayStation 2, this time in the all-new Dragon engine with current-gen visuals.
It was only a couple of months ago that I put Yakuza 0 to bed, comfortable in the knowledge it was one of my games of the year. Now we’re already gearing up for the launch of the next Yakuza title, Yakuza: Kiwami, a total remake of the original Yakuza that arrived on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006. Sega’s just dropped a brand new trailer, welcoming fans back to Kamurocho for a reimagining of Kazuma Kiryu’s skull-crushing adventure.
Few things in life are as bliss-filled as the arrival of a new Yakuza, and yet in 2017 we’re being treated to not one, but two new Yakuza titles. Yakuza Zero has already been and gone, a sublime prequel that had players kicking ass by day and teaching a dominatrix how to be mean to her clients by now. Now it’s the turn of Yakuza Kiwami, a total remake of the original PlayStation Yakuza game. SEGA has announced Yakuza Kiwami will be coming to PlayStation 4 on August 29th, packing a budget price to boot.
