Assassin's Creed Syndicate has had a worse launch weekend in the UK than even the original Assassin's Creed. You'd think the UK of all places would be receptive to an Assassin's Creed game set in Victorian London, but it doesn't appear so. The only mainline title in the series to sell less in its opening weekend was Assassin’s Creed Rogue last year, which arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 the very same day AC Unity hit PC and current-gen.
Assassins Creed Syndicate is out on console today. The PC release is not out until November 19th. But instead of sitting here twiddling our knives, waiting, I thought why not get us PC gamers involved in the AC Synidcate hype as well.
It’s just about the most subdued launch in Assassin’s Creed history so you might not be aware, but Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is out tomorrow. Yep, it’s less than 24 hours away on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Suffice to say it seems as if the trouble surrounding last year’s AC Unity has had a knock-on effect this year, so it’s all going to boil down to just how good this Victorian slice ‘n’ dicer is.
Wow, Ubisoft’s upping its game. Not content with releasing a new game trailer practically every day, it’s only gone and revealed two new Assassin’s Creed Syndicate trailers at the exact same time. Someone needs to remind their PR department about the Merge button.
From the looks of it you’d struggle to find a famous Victorian face that Ubisoft hasn’t labelled a member of the Assassins in the latest Assassin’s Creed Syndicate trailer. I mean, even poor old Florence Nightingale, who dedicated her life to healing, has given her backing to a good shivving in Leicester Square.
After the train wreck that was Batman: Arkham Knight on PC you’d think Nvidia would be doing everything it can to ensure its next bundled in game wasn’t a total disaster. Which makes it all the more curious to see Nvidia announce new game bundles of Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, packed in with GeForce GTX 970, GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPUs until early 2016.
AC Syndicate is likely to have a fairly massive PC hard drive footprint. With a 40GB file size revealed over on the XBox One Store.
AC Syndicate, which releases on the 19th November for PC and in just a couple of weeks on consoles, 23rd October, will be coming with some micro transactions that let you bypass parts of the game and speed up progression when you want to.
Ubisoft has begun opening up about the story details of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, revealing Crawford Starrick in the new story trailer. He’s the head of the Templar order and all-round bad chap, and he’s got seven deadly henchmen scattered throughout London, ready to do his bidding. From this info I can confidently tell you there will be a total of eight assassination target missions.
This had an air of inevitability about it, but Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will feature history’s most iconic serial killer - Jack the Ripper. His identity still remains a mystery to this very day, but he stalked the streets of Whitechapel during an Autumn of terror in 1888. The catch? The Jack the Ripper story campaign is coming as DLC of course.
Victorian London’s wasn’t all dreary skylines, coal-dusted houses and filthy back- streets. In its own way it was quite a nice looking place, or at least that’s what Ubisoft would have you believe with the latest Assassin’s Creed Syndicate trailer. The London Horizon footage explores the sights, sounds, and dodgy Thames water smells of the nation’s capital.
