If you’ve been holding out for a graphics card price drop before upgrading, here’s some news that may make you wince. Nvidia has told the community manager at Massdrop.com that the price of gaming GPUs will continue to rise until at least Q3 2018 due to unprecedented demand.

Taiwanese daily tech newspaper DigiTimes is reporting that prices of mid and high-end graphics cards are set for further price increases this quarter. The paper alleges that a limited supply of memory chips is driving the cost of manufacturing up, which could result in an across-the-board price increase of between $5-$20 for the likes of the GeForce GTX 1060 and the Radeon RX 580 upwards.
Firaxis has given us a sneak peek at the Cree faction that’s coming to Civilization VI with the Rise and Fall expansion pack. The Cree are the first native Canadian faction to crop up in the series, and indeed the first Native American civ to appear at all in the latest entry. They’re led by Poundmaker (Pitikwahanapiwiyin), a chief from the Plains Cree who aimed to make peace between the natives and the relatively new Canadian government.
It’s been a good few months since Total War: Warhammer 2’s launch now, and the torrent of inevitable DLC is now beginning to kick into gear. First up is Total War: Warhammer 2 - Rise of the Kings, introducing the skeletal warriors of the Tomb Kings. Square Enix has released a surprise demo for upcoming old-school JRPG Lost Sphear. The demo is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch, featuring an early chunk of Kanata and friends’ quest to restore memories to the world.
Nvidia’s discrete graphics card sales continue to be on the up and up according to data published by Jon Peddie Research, increasing Team Green’s overall share of the market to 72.8% in Q3 2017. Meanwhile, AMD saw its fortunes slip slightly after the launch of its Vega GPUs. Vega’s proven decent but not impressive when stacked up against the competition, no doubt contributing to AMD’s overall market share slipping slightly, falling 3% to 27.2%.
