A potential release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has surfaced online from numerous sources, and it’s apparently coming a lot sooner than you think. The February 24th, 2015 launch date sounds too good to be true, but Reddit user Mikefancypants works at a retail videogame store and the date was recently altered from the placeholder of December 31st, 2014, to the new date two months later.
Konami has revealed more brand-new footage of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain at Tokyo Game Show 2014, showcasing over 20 minutes of gameplay set in a never-before-seen jungle environment.
Remember that extra long Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain gameplay demo we saw back at E3? Well, thanks to Gamescom, we’ve now got another 17 minutes of gameplay, showing how the same region can reveal a totally different gameplay experience depending on how you play it.
Konami has officially confirmed that both Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and its prequel Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will be coming to PC. Ground Zeroes is expected to arrive imminently on the Steam store, while Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be out next year alongside the console release.
