Gaming PC build GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB, Core i7-6700K 4-Core 4.0GHz, 16GB performance review

A PC with a Core i7-6700K 4-Core 4.0GHz can run 857 of the top 1000 PC games released when it also has the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB graphics card and 16GB system memory in it. This combination of hardware leaves the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB as the weak point, when looking at what games it can play. You could upgrade that component enabling the system to run 915 games of our most demanding games list.

Lets see how well a gaming PC with these components performs on one of todays more popular games, Red Dead Redemption 2. In summary, 1440p resolution shows itself to be the optimum performance vs visuals for the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB. While it can certainly get a strong 1080p Ultra of 58 FPS, if you want to move up to 1440p on Red Dead Redemption 2 then we can see 1440p Low setting getting 117 FPS or the Medium returning 92 FPS. Change graphics settings up to High for 62 FPS and then Ultra gets 44 FPS.

2nd most popular game: Cyberpunk 2077 - In summary, while some might be tempted to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p resolution with the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB, we feel it is best placed at running at 1080p, where you could get the following frame rates - Low setting: 116 FPS, Medium setting: 92 FPS, High setting: 62 FPS, Ultra setting: 44 FPS.

3rd most popular game: Dragon Ball Z Kakarot - In summary, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB is clearly an overpowered bit of hardware for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, but it certainly gives you the choice of desired in game visuals. With 1080p Ultra coming in at 99 FPS, then you have 1440p Ultra with 76 frames per second and on up to 4K resolution Ultra will see 45 FPS.
