Have a quick question for anyone in here hopefully they can answer it for me. Has anyone in here ever undervolted a RX 480 Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB video card? The reason I ask is mine is running kinda hot (79-83 degrees Celsius on Resident Evil 7 Biohazard) even after I cleaned it and changed the thermal paste and I am worried about Temperatures. So if anyone can help me that would be great thank you!

I haven't undervolted anything, but I know someone who has so I can ask him if you'd like. Also are the temps usually that hight on all the games you play or only on RE7?

Sure that would be great thank you! And it is about 50% of the time Witcher 3 and Resident Evil 7 definitely push it the hardest though. I have it undervolted now but It drops memory clocks at random times so I know it might not be completely stable at them voltage settings. But I did manage to get it down to 72 degree celsius when playing Resident Evil 7 earlier today.

I have it undervolted now but It drops memory clocks at random times (but not often) while playing Resident Evil 7 from 2000mhz to 300mhz so I know it might not be completely stable at them voltage settings. But I did manage to get it down to 72 degree celsius when playing Resident Evil 7 earlier today and lowered the power consumption from 165 watts to 120 watts.

I'll ask my guy and come back to you when I get an answer from him.

Thank you just let me know how it goes when you hear from him. Thanks again!

He said the best way is to lower the voltage by 0.010mv at a time and run a test (a game will do). If the GPU doesn't get enough power the driver will crash, though GPU drivers recover quite well (from his experience).

Tell him I said thank you and thank you to you too as well. I have mine stable now at 818,824,878,935,978,1024 and 1083 in Wattman. (ASIC Quality is at 76.8%) Temperature at 68-72 degrees max with no clock drop on either Core or Memory. I couldn't be happier!
